I am the President and CEO of Siemens Canada where I am responsible for the overall strategic management, direction and leadership for all activities in Canada.
I am an engineering expert and a regular contributor on manufacturing and technology trends in the national media and through speaking engagements. I am passionate about fostering the engineering profession and education in Canada by building strong collaboration networks between industry and educational institutions.
Prior to being appointed President and CEO in January 2012, I held several senior management positions within Siemens Canada since joining in 2007. I am an electrical engineer and I began my career with Siemens AG in 1988. Early in my career, I was a project engineer and project manager and led several engineering and project management teams for large industrial projects. Prior coming to Canada, I was responsible for the global Mining business and later for the global Air Cargo Logistics business, at Siemens’ headquarters in Germany.
I am a board member of the Canadian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (CGCIC) as well as an active member of the Council of Canadian Chief Executives (CCCE), The Learning Partner-ship, Council of International Chief Executives (Conference Board of Canada) and on the Advisory Council Manufacturing for the Canadian Manufactures and Exporters (CME). In addition, I was recently named the first Honorary President for Ryerson’s Engineering Student Society.
Two passions take up most of my out-of-office hours: sports – especially soccer – and reading about history, technology and business publications.
